A project for the Body Garment course at Parsons the New School for Design, this garment is the combination of Eastern and Western traditional fashions. The dress takes influence from the Qipao of Chinese culture, and incorporates a deconstructed pair of blue jeans, an iconic piece of fashion that has made strong bonds to American culture throughout history. It is a statement on the outsourcing of things proclaimed to be "All-American", turning the idea of what is American into something "Made in China".
